my 2 week old starview 3 box is slow responding to the remote control, have tried changing batteries, checked flashing light with digital camera (ok)and it worked fine on a neighbours box, so it's possibly the box itself? anyideas please?

Could be the remote receiver on the box has come out of alignment just slightly by the look of things.

If the box is under warranty and you open it, you will void the warranty. Thats my warning out of the way :)

The remote IRD receiver you will see at the front of the box, does it look like it has moved slightly behind the facia of the box? If so you can open it and try to realign it very carefully. It could also be a dry solder joint. So as recommended if its under warranty and you are not happy with it send it back.

very hard to know if it has moved as i did not notice it's original position, however, the box would not have been touched since installation,so we can rule out a knock or jolt. I think I might play it safe and contact the supplier. Thanks for the help and advice.I'll let you know the outcome.

decided to bite the bullit,so I opened the box and noticed remote receiver was out of line (adhesive pad had come unstuck from the board)so I pushed it back down,re-assembled the box and hey presto it's fine again. Thanks again for your help and advice.
