My dad wants to use one of my USB microphones for singing on his computer. He told me that he wants to be able to hear what he says into the microphone through the speakers. How do I do this?

    Hi Core2kid!

Use headphones then you wont get feed back - its what the pro's do in recording studios...

Make sure the Microphone is *not* muted in the playback control panel - is is by default.

    Hope that helps!

normally a USB microphone is just a sound input device... it may come up as a microphone or maybe just a line in - it varies...

and will be a separate mixer device to the pc's sound card, so you will need to select it from the drop down box in the properties...

lol, then just let it play out of the speakers. again, remember to un-mute it in its 'playback' sound control panel (not 'recording' control panel), as mostly its muted by default - that maybe where your problem is..

Sorry I couldn't reply, I'll get back to you in a day or two. I'm stuck with cleaning the house and Xbox repair.

None of that helped. I want to do what the Windows hardware test does but without the delay. Since the Mic and Sound card are 2 different devices, the unmuteing doesn't work.

Ok, I'll check that link out. I didn't want Line In because of the quality mess ups but it may be my only choice. I think I have one laying around, I'll try it out and post back to see how well it works. If I remember correctly, its one of those default Dell mics that come with the computer.

I tried that mic out. It does give me the feedback that I want. I just forgot one thing, those mics are crappy as hell.
