    Hey,
This is the first time I'm building my own computer. I chose all my parts online at newegg.com and now I just want to make sure all the parts I chose are compatible. Also, if anybody notices anything wrong or something missing please let me know. Thanks!!

These are the parts I chose:
    Motherboard - Intel BOXDX38BT

    Processor - Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650

    Video Card - PNY XLR8 VCG98GTXXPB

    Power Supply - Sunbeam PSU-HUSH680

Hard Drive - Western Digital Caviar SE

    RAM - OCZ Special Ops 4GB (2 x 2GB)

Case - Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX

Seems like you REALLY skimped out on the PSU aswell, the PSU can be one of the most important parts of your built, it can ruin everything if you get a crummy one.

Instead of getting such a ridiculously expensive processor, I'd get a cheaper one and just overclock it maybe like the Q9300: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115043

With the money saved from the processor get a Corsair 520HX: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139001&Tpk=520hx

    I'd go with the GIGABYTE GA-EP45T-EXTREME: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128350

    Or the EVGA 132-YW-E179-A1:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188028

    Or the ASUS P5E3 Deluxe/WiFi-AP:

Thanks for all those suggestions faugs, especially the processor. That saved me a ton of money. Well my budget is about $1500, but since I don't even have that much yet I wouldn't mind earning a couple extra hundred for a really nice computer. I used one of those PSU calculators and it said I needed about 650 watts, so I'm not sure if that Corsair one will support my whole system. Thanks for the heads up though, because I really didn't know how important the PSU was. I'm choosing to go with the EVGA mobo that you suggested.

    Country: US
    BUDGET:~1500 ±$300

    Processor: Intel Q9300
    Motherboard: EVGA 132-YW-E179-A1
    Memory: OCZ Special Ops 4GB (2 x 2GB)
    Graphics Card(s): PNY XLR8
    TV Card: No
    Hard Drive(s): 1 (~300gb please)
    Optical Drive(s): HP DVD1070i
    Cooling: Yes
    Water Cooling: No
    Cable(s): No
    Sound Card: No
    Controller Card(s): No
    Case: Antec Nine Hundred
    Power Supply: Need help choosing

    Keyboard: No
    Mouse: No
    Headset: No
    Speakers: No
    Monitor(s): SAMSUNG 2243BWX
    Operating System: Vista

Uses: Gaming, Listening to music, movies, word processing, surfing net, photo/video editing
    Overclocking: Maybe

No problem. I'd say the 520HX would run all your stuff, but you could always go for the 620HX which would run all your stuff and BEYOND. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139002&Tpk=620hx

If you going to overclock you need a cpu cooler and not the stock intel one! You could get:

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186134

    Zalman 9500A: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118223

    Tuniq Tower:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115018

Also you would be completely satisfied with a Core 2 Quad Q6600: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115018
as it overclocks much better than the 9 series, you can easily overclock it to 2.8Ghz and get up to 3.4Ghz STABLE.

Antec 900 case is a great choice, the cpu coolers line up with the case's fans like they were made for it (and they probably were) it's almost too sweet.

As for the Ram you chose, you'd be much happier with these 1 of these 3 (They're Faster):

DDR3 is not enough of a plus point when you consider what a big minus point owning an EVGA motherboard is. He can stick with DDR2 and get a proper motherboard like an EP45-DS3R or P5Q series.

Well I was trying to go with DDR3, but I didn't know how bad EVGA mobos were so I found an XFX one. What do you think? Also I'm debating between the PNY and Zotac video cards. Links to them are below.

    These are my updated specs:
    Country: US
    BUDGET:~1500 ±$300

    Processor: Intel Q6600
    Motherboard: XFX MBN790IUL9
    Memory: G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB)
    Graphics Card(s): PNY XLR8 OR ZOTAC ZT-98XES2P-FCP
    TV Card: No
Hard Drive(s): Western Digital Caviar 320 GB
    Optical Drive(s): HP DVD1070i
    Cooling: Need help choosing
    Water Cooling: If needed
    Cable(s): No
    Sound Card: No
    Controller Card(s): No
    Case: Antec Nine Hundred

Just places a different manufacturer in the hotspot, EVGA aren't good at motherboards, but it's not their fault at the bottom, it's nvidia's appalling chipsets, ditch the SLI boards.

IMO if you want to go DDR3, go for an X48 DDR3 mobo such as the X48T-DS5 or the Rampage extreme,

Well after researching a ton, I did find out that there isn't a ton of difference in performance, so I'm fine with DDR2. Now my problem is, I can't find a mobo! All the one's I liked got really bad reviews so I need help choosing another one. I'd like it to support at least 2-way SLI with a 9800 GX2 video card. My budget for the mobo is $500 by the way. Also I'd like to overclock so I'd like to have a water cooler so I would need a mobo that would fit a water cooler.

Use an intel chipset board like the Asus Rampage Formula and the Radeon HD4870X2 graphics card, it obliterates the 9800GX2.

    why a GX2 over a 4870X2 which is more powerful, or even a GTX280?

    do you want 2 9800GX2s?

For the record, you can have two HD4870X2s if you want... :p
It doesn't do much for Crysis performance, but in other games it's great.

If your budget is $500 for the mobo, then you're on a top end system, in which case I'd suggest buying an Intel Skulltrail motherboard and three GTX280s... :p

but the problem with that is its not a great clocker, AND LGA 771 chips cost alot, BUT if you have the money that setup will last at 2560 for a godo 3 years no problem, and atleast 5 if at 1920

The reason I wanted a Nvidia is because I've heard from a lot of people that ATIs are unreliable, but I guess that's not true. So I'll take a look at the Also I'm not going to SLI/Crossfire right now, but I want the option once a second video card comes into my budget. I looked at the Skulltrail, and its an LGA 771, and the Q6600 is LGA 775. To be honest I have no idea what that means, but I'm pretty sure it means my processor won't fit into my mobo but please correct me if I'm wrong.

And $650 is a little bit more than I'd like to spend. $500 is really the max I can afford. Also how do you edit posts here? I can't figure it out.

ATi cards are every bit as reliable as nvidia cards, and don't require the use of unreliable nvidia chipsets (SLI) to run in dual mode.
The 4870X2 and Rampage Extreme will do you fine.
