I'm running win xp w/ sp3. Windows tries to install this update but this message pops up every time.
Some updates could not be installed:
Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework, Version 2.0 (KB928365)

A few weeks ago I was trying to do something (probably install something) and this wouldnt allow me to do what I was doing so I uninstalled it. Do I need this update? If so why cant I install it now?

Everything on my laptop works fine. This update just wont install.
    Thanks.

Do you have automatic updates on? Is there updates waiting to be installed that have already be downloaded to your machine? Click on the yellow sheild in the notifcation area (by the clock) and install the updates if they are there, then try to run the windows update again and it should install after that.

Anyway, it's nothing to worry about if it doesn't get installed.

Automatic updates is on. When I click on the yellow shield this update shows up. After I click install, a few seconds later a window pops up saying the following could not be installed. It lists this update. If I cant install this update the yellow shield is constantly showing up. Is there another way to get rid of besides turning off automatic updates?
