Starview 4 help please

HI, loaded a new SV4 and got all channels etc, but no sound on any pay channels. Any ideas? Manchester area. Thanks in advance.

 

If you have got all channels, then make sure that all your connection are nice and tight, your scart leads need to be in properly, also check the obvious - the mute button on remote - it has happened before now.

 

Thanks for the reply. Ive checked cables and all is ok. I worked out that if I disable then enable the key it will bring back the sound. However, the box is not stable. Reading around forums, I presume everyone is waiting for the new software. Does anyone know when its due?

V1.02 and the logo file is there also, load the same onto the USB, pluf it in to the box and trasnfer, dont remove the USB for about 30 secs after the transfer and the box starts

 

Ta. Have loaded. I also have an issue where the box freezes/judders, picture goes black/white, sound jusdders, happening every two/three minutes, even after new firmware. Any ideas?

 

have you got this connected to a hard drive?

Are you recording something by accident?

 

Its not connected to the hard drive. Its driving me mad lol.

 

i have heard if u are upgrading to higher firmware factory reset first and let it reboot before u load new firmware and let it reboot before u rescan for channels.

 

Tahnks for the help chaps. Ive redone the cabling (its off a 5mtr feed from next room) and fingers crossed the pic sharpness has improved and no juddering.

Hi scouser -SL fluctuates between 50-57, quality is gen up at 99. Do you think there could be a problem here?

 

Signal quality is low but not too low, but it should be steady and not fluctuating. Check your cabling and if its fine, try a booster with variable gain you can get them cheap at Argos.

 

scouser - will get one tomorrow -cheers - recommend any in particular at argos? Do you think it may have something to do with the fact thats it at the end of a 5m coax, via a 2 way splitter?

 

I ahd one in the house already that gave a 12.5db gain. The signal boosted to 65 but the picture pixellating badley with audible noise - so reverted back.

When the picture goes it turns black and white and sound drops for like half a second at a time, up to 3/4 times then it is fine for a few minutes etc

 

Try it from the direct feed first. Take away the splitter. Check all RF connections also. Then you could try the SLX booster from Argos, if you are still having problems.

Wondering can anyone help me, have been all over this site trying everything with no result

Gota Starview 4 USB with the new firmware uploaded on Cork Ch**us cable, had a sig strenght of 65 so added an slx booster and it is now on 98.

I have tried scanning on ch**us cork and ch**us with nothing found, when it does scan certain frequencies give a green bar flash for a second but nothing coming through, brought the box to a mates and he can get everything.

Any help appreciated
