I have a question, i found this T.V and couldn't resist buying it. A Sony Bravia KDL-40s3000. It was a floor model, and was $786.00 after tax. It had a few scratches on the stand (not to bad) and a few on the screen which looked buffable. They were-when i got it home they polished out fine, and you cant even tell they are there. I was wondering if you guys think that this was a good deal. But i have a 30day return plan and i just learned of DLP's which are large for cheap 60" for around 1400 are DLPs worse than the t.v i have? I am a casual gamer, and just like a clear picture.
Yes, DLP's are worse than what you currently bought. What you have now, if it supports 1080p is an amazing deal. Hang onto that TV. If I remember correctly, it should also have the 1 year manufacturers warranty.
Yes, it does support 1080p. Thanks for the input, very much appreciated. Guess I'll stick w/ this one. Asking around at work as well I heard DLP's have a shorter life span.
I don't know if you play games on your TV but DLP's also have a lower reaction time compared to LCDs making some types of games unplayable. I saw this on my uncles Samsung DLP. I don't know if the issue has been corrected though.
