Can I please have some help setting up my movie library?
I want to copy all my DVDs to my NAS and beable to stream them to a device (media centre, PC, MAC).
I would love it to work like a DIY kaleidescape style system?

1 . What file format sould i be saving and storing the movie as keeping in mind that i would like maxamise quality and retain the surround sound track?
    2. Can anyone recommend the best hardware player for this type of system?

There are many things out there that can read the raw files from the DVD which maintains the menus and special features of the DVD. Or you can use a ripping package to just do the movie and language track you want. This would save space as you could also decide on how much of the quality you want to maintain to get the optimal size for you.

Thanks for the reply but you haven't really helped
I already know that you can do the thigs you have suggested, what i don't know is what file format is the best to use for storage and for playability on different media servering hardware?
Or what hardware has a nice interface and is relieable and user frendly.

    Thanks anyway
