So I been toying with Video editing http://www.zippydsmlee.net/ut04mods.htm http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/239483.html I love the ease of use of Windose movie maker HATE that it can not handle simi decent audio and dose not care to make videos in high bit rates... so I thought hey I use to use Unlead video editor...lets get that and use that...it would not have been raped by time it would still be a feature rich editor right? I can not make custom titles/credits for it.... why? Am I missing something or did another simi great app get arse raped during its "upgrades"..................
TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/tda3.html The absolute best in quality output and ease of use. I have tried them all and ditched them all except this one. Although I do keep Nero 7 Ultra on my machine for nostalgia purposes. The rest are all second rate comparitively speaking.
Editing video files versus producing your own video whether DVD or .avi are two different processes. What exactly are you trying to do?
I got Ulead video studio to edit and make video unfortunately it no longer dose effects and credits like it use to. I ma looking for something like Windose movie maker but that can handle more file types and make better quality videos. If worse coems to worse I can use WMM to make the credits/text and then slice it in with Vdub....

Hi Zipp.. I had a think and a roam but I couldn't really find anything freeware which will do what you want in windows restricted payware world... Did come across a couple of interesting possibilities.. I can't find a download link for this one but it looks good..
