hey im trying to connect my tv to the pc, i have asus geforce 9500gt with hdmi out.
I dont no if this makes a difference but it is a pentium d with the latest bios installed on mother board
I can get the lcd to work perfectly in safe mode but when i try to boot xp normally
all it does is flicker on and off. It it so not the refresh rate as i have it set to 60hz on
the pc. It is not the resolution as i have tried every option and still the same flicker.
I have installed the latest video card drivers, checked to hdmi cables, even tried to
plug it in into the dvi with a dvi to hdmi adapter. It has really got me stumped ey?
If anyone could shed some light onto this it would be greatly appreciated.....
Also does anyone think vista would fix the problem??

If it works properly in safe mode then my first guess would be a driver problem. Did you go to Windows Device Manager to check all your drivers' status? Also, just because you have the latest video card drivers doesn't necessarily mean they will work with a new monitor (in your case TV). How about your monitor driver? I just bought a new monitor and had to install a new driver for it to operate properly. It came with an installer CD so no biggie. How old is the TV and where did you buy it? If you bought it online or at a store like Wal-Mart, good luck getting help. If you bought it at Circuit City or Best Buy your chances for help have increased. If you bought it at "Joe's Electronic Store" down the street then call up Joe and tell him to come over. That's the price you pay for trying to save some money. In any case, I know it's frustrating and I have myself known your pain in the past. But at this point with the information you've provided, this is the best I can do.
