I was playing some tetris on my xbox last night (legit copy, store bought) tn when i finished playing i shut off my xbox. I started it up today and the first thing my xbox does is go into the xbox live settings (in the stock xbox dash by MS). I cant hit B to exit it, I cant BACK+START+L+R out of it or anything. If I put in a burned game the screen turns white and nothing happens. Is my hack screwed!? Do I have to remod it or something??? Can I FTP into it still and mod it? SOL?
Sounds like a softmod.. correct? Did you mod it in the first place?.. if so you can fix it easy. Got a copy of halo2? unplug any network cable then boot the game.. go to live settings.. wait for a minute or so while it does an update then take the game out and reboot.. you will probably get a stock M$ dash so then just run the softmod game you used in the first place and redo it
Thank you so much it worked!! However, if I softmod it again will it erase all my configuration, settings, games, and apps? (XBMC, emulators, ripped games, etc)?
Now I'm not sure about that... I don't have much to do with softmods. You may find that it will still boot backups.. so perhaps a live evox dash disk to ftp the saves and settings off will work. Have a look in the softmod guides.. somebody will know.
It doesn't load my burned games anymore. When I pop one in the screen goes to the MS Xbox logo, sits there for a while and says it can'[t recognize the disc. I still have all the softmod files on the disc, however I can't seem to do it anymore. When I originally softmoded it I used a copy of splintercell that I had from an old friend. The disc is scratched to shit and I remember having issues when I did it the first time. I don't know how I got it to work last time. When I load the "linux" save game it hangs. I don't know if it's doing anything at all.
You may have to wait a while for the save to apparently do anything You don't have any other splinter cell saves on there do you?
