Ok, I'm not completely sure if this is even possible, but I figured here would be the best place to ask as HP just gives me the runaround and keeps trying to sell me shit and won't answer my questions directly.

I don't want to spend more than around $700 or so. I had a HP Pavilion dv9700t laptop that due to undescribed circumstances the motherboard needs replacing. The original motherboard was a 2.2 Intel DuoCore with a 512MB nVidia 8600M GS video card. I'm going to have to replace the motherboard myself. I'm having a hard time finding an identical motherboard, as HP doesn't even seem to think they exist (even though that's where I orginally bought it from), so I was wondering if it was at all possible to just put a different motherboard in it. I'd prefer to upgrade the processor and the video card, and I'm not even sure if I can do this because of the layout of the motherboard itself. So my question is can I put a different motherboard in it other than the ones from HP that are made specifically for this model? Thanks.

You cannot replace a laptop motherboard with anything other than the same one that was inside.
