I cannot use my lefthand very well so I prefer to use a joystick for gaming instead of a game pad. I've tried calling tech support on several different games to see if my joystick would be compatible with the game but usually I just get the answer that our game was tested with game pad type controllers not joysticks. (And they wonder why piracy is a problem)
But I have found that even though joysticks aren't ideal for playing games as long as the game recognizes the controller and allows you to choose your button mapping most of the time the joystick will work great with the game.

How can I avoid getting that scripted answer from tech support? My joystick is made by Logitech, so would it be good enough to ask them if the game supports Logitech controllers and if the game will allow you to map your own buttons?
I don't want to drop the cash for a game in the not be able to play it.
    Thanks
