cd/dvd: "MATSHITA DVD RAM UJ 851S 1.50 (ATA DEVICE)"

Write speed should be at about 8X or lower or half the rated speed of the blank discs you're burning to.

    I prefer Liteon drives

If possible, booktype the dvd+r discs to dvd-rom for best compatibility for playing on stand alone players

azazel is correct, burn speed no more than 1/2 of speed rating on the disc

Thanks for the advice, for the write speed(Azazel61 and Miltex).I phrased my first question wrong(cd/dvd drive/manufacture).

What should i do when Imgburn doesn't have my cd/dvd manufacture listed in the Change Booktype Window?

I notice when i try to select one of manufacture tabs(In Change Booktype Window), that i could only choose the "current media(for DVD+RW Media)" in the Change for option

Then my current setting option automatically defaults to the DVD+R (my current media is set at DVD+R)

I change the new setting option to DVD-Rom

When i click the change button, i get an error:"The function is for DVD+RW media, not DVD+R!"

So,do i need to change my current media from DVD+R to DVD+RW?If so, how would i do so?Thank you.

I don't think Matshita drives support bitsetting. You could try to set it with CD Speed, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

then you can't booktype with that ODD. so use the DVD dash R blank media instead if you have compatibly problems or buy a ODD that booktypes

Thanks for the info(LOCOENG and ZoSoIV).Right now, i own a H.P Pavilion Notebook(bought 2 years ago, brand new)and i'm not going to be able to replace the cd/dvd drive.I just don't won't to deal with configurations and BIOS.

Is there any good software(ImgBurn and others) out there that is free?

Last night, I downloaded Dvd Decryptor(I don't think it's the scam/bad one.I found the link on this website.)and everything was going find, until i couldn't load the Iron Man Video TS File. When i click on the browse icon and open the Video TS folder, it just opens an empty folder. It doesn't load the Video TS folder into Dvd Decryptor. So, i don't know what i'm not doing wrong.Any ideas?

I have read through many threads/posts and yet found a similar problem that i'm running into.I understand if you don't want to repeat yourself countlessly. If you could just give me the link to the post that could direct me to any solutions,I'll appreciate it!Thanks.

I might resort to download the free version of DVDFab.

He is? This is 2008. I consistently burn my 8X TYG02's at 12X in my Pioneer. The burns are near perfect. If you have to half speed burn you are using the wrong media for your burner.

I think it's just a case of old habits die hard. I didn't burn half the speed when that was the accepted practice. As Mystice stated, if you are using quality media with a quality burner/firmware you should be able to push the envolope with no problems.
