hi my sky+ box has a weak signal strength on input 1 all other signals strength and quality are approx 50% when i swapped the feeds it improved but an hour later returned to a weak signal this makes the box turn off also makes the box try to validate the veiwing card EG PLEASE INSERT CARD ? is the box on its way out or is it a dish/lnb problem ?
Hi Sounds like you have either dish alignment problems, bad or old cable, or water in connections (external). 50% is very poor. jbvid
cheers i have now put new f connectors on both inputs and on both the lnb end, it has improved all strength and quality do u think i should replace the cable ? and wha type is the best ?
If your cable is quite old I would replace it and if money allows go for a new LNB, go for one with the lowest db rating you can afford. But before spending see if your dish will deliver a better signal first by very slight movement vertically and horizontally. If replacing coax just ask for good quality Satellite cable. jbvid
the input on 1 has returned to approx 10% as before and is again turning itself off. it was ok for 48 hours . what now ?
