I just recently got Scorched Earth and installed it on my laptop. I ran the program, and it went to DOS like it normally did, but instead of showing the start up menu, the screen is blank. I know the game is running, because when I switch to the desktop, then click on Scorched on the task bar, there's a brief moment where it shows the start up menu, then goes blank again.

Is there an adjustment I need to make, or do I have to find a version compatible with XP (I know they haven't made the game in quite a while, I'm just finding out what I need to do or get)?

    Hey Pspluvr,

I don't know how to fix your problem, but I do have a solution :)
Classic Gaming Network (CGN) has a large collection of free, share and abandonware games. Scorched Earth happens to be one of them. They convert the old games to be compatible with newer Windows versions. Here's the link.

Hope this works for you :)
