Hey guys if anyone can help it would be great! I have an 8 gig micro sd that i got as well as a 2 gig. The 2 gig works great not an issue in sight. As soon as i put the 8 gig in it has an issue reading the card, a friend sugested getting a memory card reader and putting all the system files on the memory card that are on the 2 gig card, it then came up with card is read only so i formatted the card and it took all the system files, i put it in my phone now the memory card option comes up in file manager but as i click on it it says format error do you want to reformat? i say yes and wait and it comes up with error. i would appreciate if someone could help me as it would be great to be able to use the 8 gig memory card.
it would've been very helpful to let us know what model phone it was. Anyways, not all phones will be able to utilise an 8gb memorycard. Most phones today can handle a maximum of 4gb, and lots that even have a problem recognising a 2gb card. My point is, use the 2gb card in the phone for now, and whenever next you are buying a phone, please make sure to get the specs and see where what memory card size it can tolerate the most. The thing is, the embedded software in the phones and the chipsets on the circuit are what really allows a phone to recognise what size momory card. So if ur phone was built in the first place to fully and effectively recognise and utilise an 8gb, there's NO SOFTWARE UPGRADE or anything physically that can be done to the phone to get it to fully use the 8gb card. Hope I helped a lil bit ur phone sounds as though it wont fully and effectively manage an 8gb card
