I am using wintv32 to rip vhs to my pc. The only way the quality is good if I go uncompressed. 1/2 ended up being nearly 10 GB. Any suggestions?

it is better to Capture in uncompressed format, then convert to whatever you like. ex: xvid/AVC/mpeg

My setup: I capture in 720p/1080i uncompressed, and for a 2 hour movie, my file size is around 1 tb, then I convert it down to a manageable file size. But the picture is better than any store bought DVD.
