Any p2p app out there that isn't java based?

I'm looking for a p2p application like limewire that is not java-based. I already have utorrent, but I'm looking for an app that can download more specific files, like stand alone songs, instead of entire albums, which are usually a pain to find as torrents.

I'm unable to install java as I'm running Windows XP with SP3, which for some reason makes it's installation seemingly impossible. So, any tips on how to install java on my PC are welcome as well.

I had no problem installing java on my desktop/laptop which both run XP SP3 with MCE.

Trust me, I've tried every single way I could come up with to try and install java, but whenever I try to run the installer an error just pops-up and java's own support says they don't know what causes that error.

I take it you've used limewire or something similar to that? Try newsgroups?
