spoofing question

hey guys, let me start by saying ive done several fw mods but no "spoofing" as of yet so im sure this is do-able with the right advise: I just bought a broken 360 on ebay in hopes of fixing and giving it to a friend. after takin it apart, i see that the drive is a hitachi o59dj and doesnt spin up (it spins maybe half a rotation sluggishly) now im concerned because ive read that if its not spinning up, i cant get the key off of it to put on a 0078fk i have lying around. i do however have my original fw from my own 59dj.will i be able to use my original fw from my own 59dj to inject into the 0078fk? or would i be better off buying a replacement 59dj and swapping drive motherboards? thanks for any advice or personal experience.
