the box pvr info required if possible thanks

hi all

i am a complete novice to this type of thing and am looking for urgent help.

i bought the box pvr on ebay over 1 month ago

it is a recorable decoder in a white box with a yellow rim

however i dont have a clue how to get it workin

i contacted the seller and he sent me a rs232 lead and a memry off some sort which he said i need to open the box and install to enable it to record, he also sent me links to get the software which i also saw here in emos fill

however i am still having major difficulties. i dont know how to install the right fill or how to fit the memory he sent me to fit inside the box

i would be extremely grateful if someone could spoon feed me and reply with the exact software i need a brief guide how to install it and a brief guide how to install the recorable memory inside the box.

i know its alot to ask but im not being lazy here i genuinely cant figure it out and was at it for 4 hours yesterday

I won't be spoon feeding you all the way bit by bit because its far to time consuming, I will give you all the info in one lump for you to study/digest then use yourself. First I need to know which PVR you have ie Starview 2 that has twin tuners and takes an internal hard drive or a Starview 4 USB which records to an external hard drive and has a single tuner (Look in the Manual or tell me what the advert said it was called when you brought it)
If you are struggling to find the info about which Starview you have use 'Google'

Hello jbvideo. I'm thinking of getting the starview 4 usb and was wondering about installing the software. I have the rs232 lead from the original starview i had.I upgrade the software a couple of time on that box and was wondering if it was the same ( idea ) for the new ones ie start the gtrom loader and select the bin file? also if you know of the latest software available that would be great. Thanks
