I am somewhat new to this, meaning that I have used the same programs and media for some time and have not had to use any other programs or change anything so I only know the basics of what I am currently using. I am using Verbatim discs as usual. I use all updated Clone DVD2, Any DVD and Nero. It gives me the same "Media Write Error" message using Any DVD and Clone DVD2.
    I am using: LITE-ON DVDRW SHW-160P6S>Version: PS0A - AH 0 - 6.6.0.18
Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the drive may be going bad, I have the same drive, try using PS09 version firmware, I like that one better.
Try slowing down as well, I always burn these type of disks at 12X,

Did you have Roxio installed at one time? This driver sometmes causes problems. Here is how to uninstall it, use Roxiozap.

    http://tools.roxio.com/support/tools/roxizap.exe

    I hope this helps.

Thank you blivetNC for your very quick response and advise. I have looked in various places in afterdawn and I cannot find where to get the firmware for the PS09. Also, how do I go about slowing down when I burn these type of disks at 12X. My drive is pretty old, do you think that I should just get another? Also, I want your opinion on if I should replace it with something that will do both blue ray and dvd. Is there even such a thing. If so where could I find the info for your recommended brands etc. I am sorry but I am new to this and haven't had to do anything different. I do look things up but it still seems like another language to me. Sorry about you having to deal with someone who doesn't know much about this. Thank you for all of your help. If you can help me further that would be great.

My bad, thought that I had posted the link to the firmware,
try here and scroll down to your drive.

    http://codeguys.rpc1.org/firmwares.html

Go to Newegg.com for drives, you can find a lot of good drives for cheap.
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...06268&cm_sp=DailyDeal-_-27-106-268-_-Homepage
    Free shipping on this one.
Not sure about Blu-ray yet, I don't own a High Def TV so have no need for a Bluray player or burner.

CloneDVD2 and Nero have selction areas to burn at slower speeds, On CloneDVD2 it is the last screen before Go, On Nero it is the burn options screen.

My gut feeling is that your drive is dying due to age.

    More Lite-On drives.

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...0000005 1038406818&name=IDE&SpeTabStoreType=0

    I hope that this helps.

    One more suggestion,

try burning a DVD using a free program called ImgBurn, available here.

    http://www.filehippo.com/download_imgburn/

if this burn fails, then most likely it is your burner.
Post back and let me know the status.
