I have currently followed every direction to the 'T' on the process to create a linux ISO for the HD upgrade. I am using a Western Digital 30GB model:WD300AB I can get the ISO to boot up, then option 1 to load the linux files. Then it recognizes the HD as primary master. But it shows a list of the 2 CDRoms and the HD. Then it asks to take note of them. I type y for yes to continue. But nothing happens after that. I dont see a script like all the tutorials show about Creating a new HD from scratch. Just goes back to a linux prompt. I have tried burning 3 dif Discs. 2 CDRs 1 DVDR. What am i doing wrong?! I am getting very frustrated with this. anyone had this problem or have any ideas on what else to try? i would really appreciate any positive insight.
yeah i booted everything perfectly right. but it doesnt show that menu when i type xboxhd. but ANYWAYS, i finally just cloned the HD with Chimp instead of the lame xboxhdm way. totally flawless. I would suggest the Chimp technique to anyone who is having trouble getting the xboxhdm iso way! -Drew-Out
chimp may clone.. but xboxhdm will build from scratch without a working drive to start from.. bleh Yet again people aren't reading the supplied documents. the docs with HDM are very very clear.
Not always, I myself just recently had a drive that it wouldn't rebuild. Had to use slayers rebuild utility on one modded xbox and hot swap to the broken drive, then xboxhdm worked. Have to agree with you there, RTFM.
