I usually use DVD Shrink or rip the DVD w/ DVDFab if it's protected and use DVD Shrink to finish the job which works great. My Questions is, is there a good software that can copy just the movie so I don't have such a high compression? I rarely look into the extra features and would rather have higher quality video on DVD5 instead of buying DVD9 discs. Thanks in advance!

You can either rip the movie and menus before they get to shrink or RE-Author with shrink for main movie only. With shrink open, drag the movie over to the left (pane) side of shrink...then drop it.. and go from there.

Another way would be to burn to a dual layer disc. No compression neccessary. But the cost of the blank discs is more.

Try ripping movie only to preserve quality.

Or use Dvd Rebuilder for top notch quality retention after endcoding.
