I wanted to get one because of all the cool stuff you can do on it. I wanted to jailbreak it but when I asked someone about it they said that it wasn't hackable and I couldn't hack the 2nd generation ipod touch. Is this true? I won't get one unless I can hack it because I want all those free apps. Thanks
Anything can be hacked. However, it uses a propritary interface with the PC. I know of the steps it takes to 'punch a hole' in the Zune defences just long enough to transfer files. The Zune also uses a propritary interface. It is a great deal of tricky work and the wall goes up as soon as you stop 'holding the bars open'. I suspect the touch and ipod will be just as hard to break into. You are smart to research before you bought.
