I bought a HDMI cable to hook up my new HDTV to my old Magnavox MWD2205 DVD/VCR, but there is no hook up for this type of cable. What do I do?

You're better off buying a new DVD player. The HDMI to Component converters are pretty expensive. HDMI is a digital cable and Component is analog. Or, you can just buy a nice set of component cables and hook that up to your TV/DVD player. Component will give you a much better picture then composite. Also, you can find a decent upconverting DVD player for pretty cheap, with that player, you can use your HDMI cable.

Below is a set of component cables:

If your old DVD player is capable of progressive scan it will have a component output (red, blue, green). Connect this output to a component input on the TV. You will need 5 conducters to do this, three for the component (red, blue, green), and two for the audio (red and white/right and left).
Save the HDMI for your new Blu-Ray player.
