    Hi igotaprob

Please download the HijackThis zip file. Save it onto a convenient place in your computer, and then unzip the file.

    • Start HijackThis.
    • Click on Misc Tools.
    • Then click Open Uninstall Manager.
    • Click Save list...
Notepad will open with the list.
    Post the list here.

    Best Regards :D

Well that would work on some levels. Would relieve the stress of having a laptop/dealing with Windows and would also make a cool sound. But other than that, that's a last resort.

Even if it's not a virus, post a HJT log, it will show us what the process is.

It sounds like your work is pushing the information to your computer via group policy. Do the other computers at your work have the same information on their desktops?

If you want to test it to be sure, change your desktop so that the message doesn't display. Then go to a command prompt and type the following.

    gpupdate /force

This will force your computer to update the group policy. Once the group policy is updated, the text should show up again on your desktop. If this is the case, there's nothing you can do other than not logging on to your work's network.
