I have just purchased a second starview for the back room when scanning only getting half of channels I normally get in front room no problem. I used splitter and about 15 metre run of cable but as I say i get some channels including some of premium but on other box fed off same splitter get twice as many. I have factory rest rescanned etc few times no joy, any advice would be appreciated thanks
How will this help still need to locate box in back. The box in back room now was originally in front with all channels but when I put it in back could not get all channels I could previously could view so I did a rescan and only picked up half of channels? If i scanned on feed I am sure I would get all channels but when I move back to cable in back room I am sure I would not pick them all up- could it be aproblem with cable or the quality of my f plug fittings??
Hi Put it this way, imagine you have 2 dogs and they like a tin of food each but you only have one tin left, if you share the tin between them it still leaves them both hungry. A bit off topic but it does explain it. jbvid
A normal 2 way splitter decrease the signal strength at around 3 db. There are splitters on the market which are organized as tab and decrease the signal strength at 6 db and more at one leg. Beside that a bad cable can also "eat up" a lot of signal strength. Specially the old brown cables are very bad. The pro's are using CT100 cable.
Use a booster?replace cable?Check the splitter? Before I start spending money I am using RG6 cable I can probably reduce the run by 3 to 4 m would this help? If this fails what is recommended booster or splitter or cable
