Burning a good quaity DVD movie - from an AVI file

    I have a 700mb avi file a DVD Burner and a single layer dvd-r what is the ideal way to get a good quality dvd movie, what program do I need? and what speed should I burn at.

    If you are trying to convert avi to dvd then you can use a program like dvd flick which is free. To burn, use imgburn and I burn no faster than 1/2 what the dvd is rated for.

    FAVC is also real good. Has the best free (some think it the best period) encoder around, HCEnc.

    Doesn't really make much difference what encoder is used.. It's always going to look like a 700mb avi ;)
