c-media ac97 audio problem (code10)

    hi
    can anyone help me with a driver problem ?
    reinstalled windows xp and now have no sound. windows troubleshooter info says c-media ac 97 cannot start (code10),location pci bus 0..device 2..function 7..

    any help or info be gladly appreciated ..

    wrong or no driver.. There are lots and lots of variants of the "ac97" chipset driver..

    Google your motherboard or pc actual model number and you will find it.

    i to just reinstalled windows xp now under the device manager i have an exclamtion mark next to the c media AC97 adudio device i have tried updating driver with no luck. can anyone help me out? thank you
