drd I don't understand if you author your files into mpeg2 to play back on your pc, and the dvd player plays video cd's, why can't you plays super vcds on dvd players? I thought it was just my stand alone dvd player so armed with a super dvd that plays on my pc with power dvd I went to the stores to try different players none worked the closest I got was both jvc and panasonic the video advanced a frame at a time and if I held the jvc fast scan at it full speed of 100x it looked like it was normal speed? any ideas

Umh, now I didn't 100% understand :-) But you're saying that you created SVCD and it didn't play correctly on your stand-alone DVD player, right?

Try this, relatively easy method: follow our DVD2VCD guide (from articles section), but in TMPGEnc, use SuperVideoCD templates instead of VCD.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">VideoCD templates to encode the video. And then use latest Nero (5.5.5.1 or something like that) and select SuperVCD format and drag&drop the MPEG-2 file you created to Nero and it should approve it. Then remember to select "Finalize disc" option and use CD-R discs, not CD-RWs and burn the CD with 4x or slower. Should work.
