windows xp start up problem

    hiya.

    when i start my p.c. i can log on and get the usual welcome screen , but then i just get my desktop screensaver,with no icons or the start button in the bottom left hand corner. anyone help ??

    Hey jofin

    Try running Task Manager (pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del), and then File -> New Task (Run...). Type in explorer.exe, and then click on OK. Does your Desktop come back?
