Hi all, Recently bought a LG 52" LCD 1080p TV. Model 52LG5000 It is linked up to my PC via DVI > HDMI I have a XFX 8800 GTX Gfx card. The output resolution is set to 1920 X 1080 to the TV. For some reason the TV does not display this correctly, it seems that the PC out is of a higher resolution (e.g. i maximize a window on the TV and the top, bottom and sides are slightly cut off) I've been through Nvidia control panel numerous times trying to get this to display properly. Anybody have any ideas? Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, was in two minds where to put it. Thanks Dan
I don't have this tv or the same video card, but I have run into this same problem. Anytime I go from watching a video or playing a game, the desktop has edges cut off. I can get the desktop to display properly by switching through the modes on the tv and then back to vga output. And some of my older pc games will not display widescreen unless I select fill mode through the t.v. video controls, but then I have to switch back to standard after playing a game or the desktop will be out of wack again. I realize that this doesn't answer your ?'s, but maybe those are some things you can try until this ? gets answered.
All TVs still overscan which might explain your cropped picture. You should read your manual carefully as some newer sets now have a way to set overscan to zero. Look for something called 'Just Scan' on your LG.
