i ordered my powerbook g4 off ebay and just got it today.

    specs:
    1.67ghz
    g4 processor
    80gb hard drive
    dual layer dvd burner
    high resolution 15" screen
    aluminum case
    1.5gb of ram
    128mb of vram
and finally its running osx 10.5.5

so when im running windows xp pro sp2 it lags hardcore.
even on normal pc standards xp should run decent under those specs so i decided to check the specs via my computer properties and it says:

    686 processor?
    134MHz?
and the only one i know what it means is the 512mb of ram

so..why isnt all of my ram coming up on the virtual pc since i have 1.5gb of ram

also should it be coming up as a 1.67ghz cpu as well?

i dont know i only want xp on there to run wlm 9 but it lags so bad when typing that it starts to skip letters to ketch up so when i write long messages non of it makes sence because of how much it leaves out.

anyways thats all for tonight, ill do more messing around with this thing when im at work.

    thanks
    -Ben

ok new problem, i changed xp to the classic theme with a solid color background to try and speed it up and all went well, didnt really get much faster tho but i tried anyways, so then after that i was installing avg anti virus and it the installed stopped responding on the very last part so i close it and tried to restart xp to see if that would work and it would open the shut down screen, id click shut down and restart, and it would show the loading mouse logo and then nothing and wouldnt move from there.

so i tried closing it on the osx part and it wouldnt close virtual pc so i tried turning off the powerbook all together and that wouldnt work either so i was like k wtf?! so i took the battery out and it finally turned off

when i turned it back on all worked well and then i tried loading xp again and now i gots me a nice blue screen of death and it keeps restarting.

so now i need to know how i uninstall xp from virtual pc and reinstall it?

im using virtual pc 2007 for microsoft office 2008:mac
my laptop came with it, on amazon it said its a $100.00 program.

im now trying to reinstall windows xp pro from a cd and its not working, i set up the computer part, then when i go to install an os it says no os found, install an os on this hard drive.

so now theres 2 ways the help file says on doing this and one is to insert the cd and it should load, and th other is to click on the cd options and go to capture cd image in which case you need to rip the cd to an image file with i did, i made it into an iso file on my pc and sent it over to my powerbook and BOTH ways dont work at all, im i doing something wrong on how to install this?

its also extremely hard for some reason to find any tutorials or anything on virtual pc for mac on how to install an os.

    There is your problem.

Virtual pc 7 is designed to run win 95/98/2000/mel/nt 4.0 server/nt 4.0 workstation

Not designed to run windows xp worth a darn.

Even if it comes with it.
