    Hi there,
    My sister has just rang and said her eurovox has died! Now these are the symptoms she described to me over the phone;
    Switched on and the screen said "fault detected"
    Picture froze
    sound continued as normal
    box had to be switched off at wall
    Now wont even power up
    Thats the best I can do for now so has anyone got any suggestions?
    Im not sure of the model but its black with chrome buttons, and its only a year old

    I dont think anyone could help you with that unless you have the box in front of you and give more detail. What does it say on the display if you try to power it up or is it stuck in standby? is it still under warranty? where did you buy it from? do you know if it is a genuine EV?

    Apologies for all the questions but it will help us to help you.

    I presume its a Max V also as below?,

    I cant get th box at the moment. Its a genuine box, its out of warrenty, and there is now no power at all (not even standby) When I get it I'll check the fuse, but what happened with it suggests thats not the fault

    Have a look at the Power board and check the C14 cap for leaks or to see if it looks swollen like below,

    Picture thanks to Sc0user,

    The "fault detected" please return to your supplier, usually means you have to Jtag it. But I would try a reflash first just at the off chance.

    EDIT: Apologies mate didn't see you there ;)
