Hi Aniruddh( Sorry if i spell you wrong). I too live in India. I dont have any PS2 background b4. Me too having same version of Ps2 and purchased a week ago. If you any kinda information about using these tools Like Action Replay MAx, uLauncher, Swap MAgic etc do have a message to me. I am damn confused about playing burnt games. there's lot we can crack up with Ps2 but being a newbie i can't even undrstand anything.
The games are too costly and unaffordable to buy. Lol the memory card is unaffordable too. I want use Pen Drive as my memory card. Still in search of good tutorial.

wish i could have done a search on web b4 purchasing a playstation2. wat a big mistake. i own a sony ps 2 pal version bought from sony world india. model no- SCPH-90004.
it doesnt any cds except the cd which is given as complimentary gift.
then looked for a modchip and even traced out the location where it can be done but dont wish to spoil its warranty.
another feasible option swap magic but its not available in india and even not that resourceful to order it online.even ebay india dosnt have any such stuff on its site for sale
one last option available which will neither use mod chip nor swap magic disc. he he he he he
its called ps2 sensor blocking.(u can find on you tube videos)
never tried it though..

the problem is that my parents and especially my brother doesnt want to lose its warranty.
that poor fella even used the straw stuff to block the 3 sensors in ps2.

Well dont worry about slowing down. It only slows due to the processing of Mod Chip. Now not really it slows. I dont think it would be worth using ps2 if now modded since, it would lack its functionality. These day is do following things on my Ps2::
a) I never use CD/Dvd for playing games on PS2. I use it with Portable HDD or PenDrive/USB Drive.
b) Watch all sorts of ripped DVDs of movies which are in .AVI format.
c) Listen to MP3's and MP4's.
d) Play All sorts of Emulated Game via my HDD.
So i think, these are exciting features that i can use for my daily purpose. These things save my PS2 laser and just make it long lasting (i guess).
But frankly, get it modded. There's nothing to fear modding. I was worried about modding but then, i decided not to fear and got it modded. Actually there are all sorts of discs like Swapmagic that you need to buy to extend its functionality but if you consecute the price of Swapmagic Disc in INR it will cost you around Rs.1250 + Shipping chrages and a mod chip costs around Rs.1200/- in Pune City.
Argue with your family somehow and get it modded. Warranty doesent matters a lot for PS2. And stop reading the bad effects of modding or things that slow down ps2. It dosent really matters.

finally got the ps2 modded in kolkata at a throw away price of 850INR.
its equipped with matrix infinity v.1.94 and the machine doesnt get heated up much.
i wanna really thank my friend anurage for giving the god suggestion.

LOL man! You only paid 850INR (I know even it is costly) though i paid 1200INR for mine. But congrats to you. Do you own any USB device? You can really start up everything with your usb.
Hey Do burn and keep a copy of Swap Magic 3.X (x=6 or 7) with you, now you can burn the backup copy available on Net and use it in your modded ps2

yup it is modded, and i have no idea what kind of modchip is installed in it, i post in the other forum how to find what kind of modchip you have,, still i can't open my ps2 it is on warranty from where i bought it...

-- when i operate my PS2, First Boot.. It boot normally, plain PS2 Sounds
regular boot (where the option is only BROWSER and SYSTEM
CONFIGURATION
-- When I Play PS2 Original/Burned/Backup Games It loads normaly without
pressing the reset button i just put the disc on and it loads automatically
The Logo is just plain PLAYSTAION 2..
** It doesn't tell me what kind of modchip i have **
-- I Try Pressing/Holding The Triangle + Circle buttons and nothing show up
Modchip configuration Menu.(Matrix Infinity)
** So I know that my Ps2 modchip is not Matrix Infinity **
-- When i Put Burned/Rip Movies all i do is i press the reset twice OR
when i press reset i hold the circle button
** It Reads and Play my movies smoothly and perfectly **
-- BUT when i put an Original REGION 1 DVD (hence my Ps2 is NTSC/J) it
gives me the messege
(this player is incompatible with the region marking of this disc)
** Regional Codes hence my ps2 is modded and it should play Region 1 **

So are you interested in knowing your mod chip!
Well Matrix Infinity when installed Shows its version right before Starting the Ps2! So when you put any Backup Cd in it, it will first be loaded by Matrix Infinity and then boots up. I am pretty sure that yours is not matrix,
Well I have heard that there is duplication in Mod Chips too.
No need to open your PS2 for knowing Mod CHip.
I think you must be having ModBo or something.

what is ModBo? so if i use matrix this software can direct boot from external hdd without cd or need cd to boot in hdd? but i don't have matrix were can i download that kind of software? somebody help me about this kind of problem.. somebody give me a procedure to connect the external hdd to my ps2 90007

no i dont have usb device with the ps2
well i have some queries
say i am playing god of war 2 and in some stage kratos dies and consequently u have to press X for continue and when i do it the screen just keeps on flashing LOADING.
wat could be the possible problem
one more thing is there any voltage stipulations for modded ps2

Ok!
So what you have to do is ::
Download
http://sksapps.com/index.php?page=launchers.html
Latest Launcher from the above site and Put it in your usb. Create a folder name SWAPMAGIC and put the uLauncher Elf renaming it as SWAPMAGIC.ELF

OK, why are u ppl getting swap-magic when u already hav modded ps2's.
btw, i m also frm india and i hav a 90004 with matrix infinity v1.93 bios.
The above method of putting the swapmagic elf file in USB device is for ppl without modchips who have swapmagic and want to avoid 2 discs for booting when using usbextreme/usbadvance.
If u hav modchips; simply burn the USBadvance into a disc and boot with it :) dont bother with swapmagic
btw, i m also frm india and i hav a 90004 with matrix infinity v1.93 bios.

I want to use my backup game(which I dloaded from net), my usb, my ethernet/network port also without open my new PS2 ( I dont want to break its seal).
Please provide me the steps. (note: my PS2 is PAL). Can i play game with NTSC after doing anything ?
