    Hey all

I was updating an old computer I had. It originally had Windows XP service pack 1. I was upgrading to Service Pack 2 and after Service Pack 2 installed, the computer restarted...only this time when it got the Splash Screen (the one where it says Windows XP and has the running bar below it). It freezes.

I tried running Windows on safe mode and that doesn't work either.

    Any help is greatly appreciated

Also, if worst comes to worst I'm thinking about using the program Maxblast to copy my master computer's hard drive to the computer I'm currently having problems with. Will I run into any problems doing that?

I'm not sure if I'm reading your question correctly. Are you saying that you have 2 computers and you want to copy (clone) one computer's hard drive and put it in the other computer?

If that is what you're planning on doing, then you may have some problems, especially if the computers don't have the same hardware. If the computers do have the same hardware, then you can simply use a utility from Microsoft called Sysprep, which will allow you to change the serial number and more importantly, it'll make sure that the 2 computers don't have the same SID. If the hardware is different, then you'll probably get blue screens because you don't have the correct drivers for the hardware.
