Don't know if anyone has had my problem. I have a 40" Viewsonic LCD TV - Model N4060W - which according to the label on the TV supports both PAL 50 and 60.
However I finally managed to find where to change the setting, but when I change the console settings on my X Box 360, it doesn't work.
Am I doing something wrong?
If I have done it right, both the TV and the 360 are set to PAL60 so in my eyes it should work?
Being quite a novice with the 360, is there something different I need for connecting the two items - a HD AV Cable?
Appreciate anyone's help!!
Thanks
There really is no setting to change your 360 from NTSC to PAL. If you're just changing your region of where you live, that's not going to make a difference. The systems are made for whatever region you bought it for and that one only! So if you bought a 360 that was from the US or it's region is NTSC, it will not play PAL games (unless region free).
Thanks for the reply, but I think there is a misunderstanding.
My 360 is UK and so is my TV. I am simply trying to change the PAL settings on the TV to 60 as some of the games require this. Yet despite changing the setting on the TV AND 360 they still won't work apart from in black and white with a poor quality.
My question is, do I need a different type of connection? THe one I have at present came with the 360 2 years ago, so maybe is not good enough for the HD TV?
Well if you got your 360 2 years ago, it should have the Component Cables, which are fine for HDTV's. I myself have a 32" HDTV, but I've never had to change a setting on the TV, so the 360 games could play. I'm in the US though, so I don't know if this is just a UK issue?! You may want to get a hold of M$ about the issue, and see if they can help you, because I wouldn't know what to do.
