I cannot seem to activate the time shift recording (pausing of live tv). I can record by pressing the record button, so the hard drive must be ok? Grateful for any suggestions.

Thanks for replying. When I press pause basically nothing happens.
I have the original firmware at the moment with FTA channels only, as I`ve only just got the box. I`ll update the software and try again, was just confused that it would record but not pause live TV.

    After flashing works fine.
I am still learning how to use the recorder but I can`t see any facility that lets you cut down the recording, I`ve done the same thing. We`ll have to re read the manual to work out how to use the timer.

There isn't a facility that lets you cut the recording down, you will just have to remember to press stop or use the timer so that it stops itself.
