I do not get the option to capture from an analog source. The only selection I get is to capture from DV from the pulldown menu when selecting my capture device. HELP!
Well I guess that studio 9 doesn"t recognize that your USB Device is installed...Have you tried Re-Installing the Drivers for your Device??? Have you tried the Basic Analoge Capture Module for Studio 9 called "AM Capture" ??? It is a Basic Analoge capture program that comes with Studio 9...And are you sure that Studio 9 supports USB Devices or at least your Device?? well good Luck
Thanks Minion...the funny thing is, Studio 9 came with my Pinnacle MovieBox USB as a package! I uninstalled all the software and reinstalled all the software (with the updated patches) and then connected the external USB capture device from Pinnacle. I now have a pulldown box for the external analog device! Chalk one up for NOT buying something that was just released!
Just a final note...after installing the patches Studio 9 now works great! Holy S#+% Studio 9 is powerful! Awesome professional results. My analog capture works flawlessly now.
Advice, please. 1. I plan to get a newer adapter card some day in the future. For now, would a separate TV/video input card be faster or more powerful than my ATI Radeon 64MB DDR for input from my VCR?. The separate cards seem to be in a price range I can afford. 2. I think I want to get the Pinnacle 9 editing software. Could someone compare Nero 6 with Pinnacle 9? 3. If it is more versitle, which version would you recommend? I'm interested in internal PCI cards. I am heavy into Photoshop and graphic/sound fun and want to sharpen my project skills and will soon be needing this technology for school projects as well. Thanks, Sam
calibrate, hold back your enthusiasm until you actually produce a finished dvd. I had Moviebox USB with Studio 8 and it was garbage. The app would crash all the time (freeze up) and the audio was always out of sync somewhere in the middle of the dvd. I don't think the buggy software problems were ever fixed. Help please... i bought pinnacle moviebox usb, it camed with Studio 9, the problem is that i can´t CAPTURE the from my VCR (analogue). I can see the Video in the PREVIEW window of the capture option, but when i press CAPTURE, it always gives me the same error, it always says for me to check the connection cable, if it is COMPOSITE or S-VIDEO, the problem is that i select always S-VIDEO (it´s my connection to the VCR), but always gives me same error. I dunno what more to do. I have a pentium IV ; 2.4Ghz ; the graphic card it is an Matrox MGA-G200 AGP, my USB is 1.0 ( i know that i should have 2.0 but pinnacle says that 1.0 works also, so that can´t be the problem.. i hope...)..., Sound card it is an Creative Sound Blaster PCI 128, i already upgrade all my graphic and sound drivers... i don´t see any solution.. Can anyone please tell me what more to do???
First off with USB 1.1 you can only capture at a resolution of "352+240" ,So make sure that is the resolution you are Captureing to, if this isn"t the problem then the Problem could be because the VHS Tape if it is a Retail VHS tape could be Copy protected...You can see the Video when playing the VHS Tape but as soon as you try to capture the Capture Device detectes the Macrovision Copy protection and then says the Signal is Bad because the Copy protection Distorts the signal... If you still have the Option you should take the Device back to the Place you bought it and get a Refund or exchange because this device is Notorius for being on of the worst devices there is and you it is Basicly so bad your files will allways be of very low Quality and the Audio will allmost allways go out of Sync.... You Can pick up a PCI TV Card on e-bay for under $20 that will produce better quality than your USB device and at Full Resolution...Generally speaking Most consumer level USB devices are Not very good especially at USB 1.1(USB 2.0 has 4000% More Bandwidth than USB 1.1) ...The Good USB Devices Run at least $300-$500 and you can get something that is PCI that is just as good or better for less than Half that...well good luck
