hi, just wondering if someone can help me, i bought a new power supply the other day, i havent fitted it to the pc yet but i have plugged it in to the wall socket and switched it on. The fan is not going around and is making no noise, does anyone no if this is a faulty psu or is it just because i have not connected it to the motherboard, just wanted to ask first as i do not want to mess about trying to fit it and then find out its not working. thanks

has to be connected to the motherboard so the motherboard powerswitch can turn on the psu. there is another method by shorting 2 certain pins but suggest not do it if short wrong 2 pins.
