I have a ilo DVDRHD04. I put a disc in it to copy a home movie that is currently on the hard drive but it won't recognize any disc. Every disc I put in it says "invalid disc". I have used several different dics manufactures with no success. Has anyone else had this problem or better question, a solution? I have emailed ilo about this and there has neen no reply.
Ilo is made by Liteon (I own one). I use Verbatim discs with no problems. If your interested, here's a few sites to check out: http://www.ilohelp.com/Faq_iframe.htm http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks/ilo-dvdrhd04/4689 And the last one read carefully: http://www.ss3f.com/ilo/hd04old.htm
Hi totallylo, I own 4 HD04 and all of them got to the state as yours, "invalid disc". A temporary fix that might help for a while is cleaning the lens, but I seriously think that it's time to replace the drive. All my HD04s have new PC drives in them, and I've changed a number of drives in R04s, Liteon 5007, 5045, 740 and 760. The real challenge is to find a fully compatible burner these days. The older Liteon (and some Sony burners manufactured by Liteon) are fully compatible, meaning they fast-forward commercial and DVD+Rs, newer Liteon burners won't FF and freeze which you have to either unplug or press power on bothe the remote and the recorder at the same time, a little easier on the back !!! Here's a good (and long) thread on drive replacement speciaffically oin the ILO HD04, even if the thread are older check the ones on compatible drives also. http://www.techolio.com/forums/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1868&sid=c41824ccc55fb4b03307d1d3404644a7 and this thread shows pics http://www.techolio.com/forums/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2723 and here's an extensive list of drives that work in the HD04, evenb though it's a list for Liteon 5005, the list is also good for the ILOs and other older Liteons, some fully compatible others with no FF, I personally installed burners with no FF in a couple of my HD04s, I'm ok with that because I only use them as burners and I use other players to watch anyway. http://club.cdfreaks.com/f102/replacement-drives-liteon-5xxx-recorders-207698/ Good luck
