I have a 2nd gen and 3rd gen ipod when played through rca to headphone jack cable on my home system the sound is horribly distorted, the vocals of my songs sound like they're under water but the music on the same songs sound fine. I also have a 30 gig ipod video and when i play the exact same songs they sound perfectly fine. I have the eq off on all 3 ipods. They all sound fine when listened with headphones. I checked all the setting and they're the same on all 3. Is there something wrong with smaller ipods like apple putting deficient parts in them or something? If someone else is having similar problems or have fixed or even heard of a similar issue please respond. Thanx

i know you probably checked already but try to set the ipod to sound check on, this will try to make all the volume on the songs the same, i have notice on mine connected to a fm transmiter, if the volume is to loud on the ipod itself, the sound comes distorted on the radio, i will have to manually turn the volume down on the ipod and i get better quality, Good luck.
