Just a simple question. When I insert a DVD movie into my standalone (Daewoo hooked up to my TV) DVD player, what files is the machine looking for on the disk?

    Just to add....

It is looking for a VIDEO_TS folder (typed in uppercase)

This folder HAS to contain the following file structure OR similar depending on what you have ripped/stripped and re-authored...
(this is just an example of a 'movie only')

    VIDEO_TS.bup
    VIDEO_TS.ifo
    VTS_01_0.bup
    VTS_01_0.ifo
    VTS_01_1.vob
    VTS_01_2.vob
    VTS_01_3.vob
    VTS_01_4.vob
    VTS_01_5.vob

The ifo is the info folder
The bup is just a backup of the ifo file
The vob contains the audio/video etc.....

The VIDEO_TS files contain info regarding (briefly) region code/any menu/first play instruction/and what is contained on the disc in terms of total titles etc...

The VTS_01.0 files are the information files of what audio/video/subtitles/locations of where they are located (sectors/LBA)chapter times and length etc....and others...

The VTS_01_1.vob upto _5 are the files which contain the actual movie/audio and subtitle content.....

The main vobs can just be played in a PC, but obviously there is no chapter/audio selection available UNLESS you include the VTS_01_0.ifo file.......

    Hope this helps....
