This Long?

    Hello, currently I am converting a .AVI File to a .MPEG but it tells me it will be about 6 Hour or more! Is this Normal? It converts at 6.4 FPS....

    Program: Cucusoft AVI to VCD DVD SVCD Converter - 4.02

    What should I use for converting my files? Or do they normally take this long?

    I hope this is the right forum, if not, I'm sorry.

    how big is that avi file?
    and what kind of pc do you have?
    on my pc converting a 700 MB movie takes about 3 hours and have an P IV 2,66 Mhz

    IT is a 870 MB .AVI File and I have a Pentium 4 2.66 Processor, With Wireless DSL...

    How large the avi is doesn't matter. What's more important is how long it is. Even without knowing this, I have to say that 6 hours is way too long. Use a better encoder like TMPGEnc. You'll probably be able to complete it in real-time or better.
