Hey Guys Ive been at this all week and read all the guides and still have a problem here...this is my sad tale My xboxhd dies :-(, so I buy a 40gb seagate of the net as a replacement. As my original HD is dead I bought an eeprom reader off ebay and got my eeprom from the xbox. All is good! So I download mik3's fresh ms dashboard files and xboxhdm, I then create a restor disk with the dash files and the eeprom. I then create a new HD with the download ms dash files, all goes well here..then I lock the drive..again success! I then go to install the drive in the xbox, error code 16, no microsoft logo and no games will boot at all. So I decided to retrace my steps and do it all over agin which I have now done about 20 times, still I get error 16. I then tried some other dashboard files with no joy error 16 all the way. This is my C drive contents Audio fonts xboxdashdata.185ead00 xodash XBox Book.xtf Xbox.xtf xboxdash.xbe E drive has CACHE TDATA UDATA Obiviously the xbox cant find the dashboard to set the clock, but the question is why?, Ive tried multiple dash files (which other people have used succesfully), have the correct folder setup etc why wont this work??? Unicron my master can help solve this?, Im going to break down into tears very soon if i cant get this to work! FYI NO MOD CHIP of any sort installed
that was awefully quick. Download the cheater C link in my signature. It will contain modded dash files with a working ms dash. Just delete all the contents of the C folder and replace them with my files. IF this doesn't work we can try to boot a game and run an exploit, but try this first. *edit* I couldn't even download my own link so i reupped the same folder at rapidshare. Here's the link http://rapidshare.com/files/168760001/xbox_cheating_reup.rar.html Let me know how it goes.
Downloaded the files mate and installed them. I now have an error 21, however the small microsoft logo shows before going to error 21. This is a good sign I presume.
I guess my last post never posted. I'm guessing right now you can boot games. You should be able to run your game and launch an exploit. When you get in the expliot resoftmod the xbox. I don't know why my files didn't work, they should work from 1.0-1.5. Either way you should be able to play games and remod the xbox. If you can't get any further you can use an older exploit i have. Can you take a picture of your error screen? I almost think that your xbox is tsop flashed.
HI C4RN1 I cant boot anygames at all, with your C drive installed it goes straight to error code 21 after showing the small microsoft logo. Ill take a pic of the error screen for you. If i install any other c drive files it goes straight to error code 16, no microsoft logos at all. What exactly is TSOP flashed, if its messing about with the BIOS Ive never attempted anything like that.
that's exactly what it is, it's flashing the onboard chip with modchip bios. I had a friend try to use my c files and he got an error 21. He had a 1.1 so it should have worked. Then when i got his xbox i noticed something strange. http://www.putfile.com/pic/7834793 So yeah it could be the problem. But if you are the one that softmodded this box then it would be ruled out. What's the history of this xbox?
The xbox was bought brand new circa 2004, I stopped playing it years ago and it sat dormant untill I decided to put XBMC on it last week using the hotswap method. Unfortunatly the HD was damaged when i conected it to the pc and wouldnt function any more. This is were is the point where I bought an eeprom reader off ebay, the rest is in the first post. The machine was never modded in anyway and was functioning perfectly prior to last week. The error 221 screen im getting is the the default microsoft one, nothing like the pic in the link you posted.
Heres the screenshot of the error code http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p21/joelang1699/02122008191.jpg
Any progress on this one? I'm going to try the 'xbox cheat' download as soon as I pick up some more blank cds.
Ive been over everything about 5 times now, Im still getting error 21. I dont know what else to do here. lol, its realy begining to get to me.
Sorry joe, i ment to tell you i've been working on this problem to try to recreate it on a 1.1 xbox i've had layin around. I've been able to fix the error 21 on all versions. My guess is that it's a 1.6 and that's the problem. So to try to fix this issue for you i'll mod a 1.6 and upload those dash files for you. In the meantime can you go through and further identify your xbox's version? http://www.xbox-scene.com/versions_1.php follow this guide and tell me what steps you chose.
Hi mate, No problem with getting back to me im very greatful that youre helping. I went to the site and followed the steps the box has... Conexant video chip No GPU fan Dual row of power pins manufacturing date is 03/09/2003 thats 09/03/2003 in the U.S. at the end it said I either have a 1.2 or 1.3 xbox however according to the product code (05 China) and EEPROM info its a 1.1 box weird eh?
Hi C4RN1, just wondering if you came across anyhting that may help?, my younger brothers desperate to use XBMC lol.
Eh i still don't understand what's going on with your xbox i haven't been able to duplicate the error. I haven't been working on it much though, I just ripped the trans and motor out of my car so that's been taking up most of my time. But now the trans is at my builder being rebuilt with race internals so i'll try to work on it later tonight. I'll have files for you either later tonight or tomorrow. It's a 1.2-1.3 i'll try to get both if possible. If this fails you should just buy another mb to get this box up and running.
Alright here we go V1.0 Cheater Avalaunch V1.4 Cheater Avalaunch V1.6 Cheater Avalaunch Spent a few hours on this so i hope one of them works. With the 1.6 it was incredibly easy to get error 13, 16, and 21. I actually got 21 as soon as i tried to mod the 1.4 with avalaunch. It was something to do with the aid disc not knowing where to put the files. This is why on the 1.4 there's a E file location as well as a C. Let me know how this goes, it's taken too much time to not work.
