I have several DVD-r discs created with Nero 8 on a WinXP system. I have used Incd and Express and tried with and without the multisession option. The Vista computer has a Lite-on burner and a LG DVD-ROM, neither will recognize these discs even with ISObuster and CDRoller. A different WinXP computer without Nero 8 will read all discs without a problem. Data DVD's created with the Windows Vista system are readable by Vista and XP. The Vista computer has Roxio EMC10 installed without directcd.
I had other people try the discs and they don't have problems. A usb DVD drive connected to the my Vista computer reads them okay. Using the burner from the XP computer in the Vista computer will not read them. Burning the same project with a different burner installed works okay. Testing the discs with Nero discspeed shows the problem discs have more read errors then the working one. I booted my Vista computer from a Norton Ghost 9 disc that has XP drivers and still could not read the problem discs. I realize the problem could be with burn errors but don't understand why other computers can read them 100% and this one computer always sees an empty drive/no media using 3 different drives and the 2 different controllers on the motherboard. Drivers and bios are the latest available. The Vista system is a P4 3.2GHz Asus P4P800 Deluxe with 3GB ram. My guess is that something with this system doesn't handle the disc errors like other computers. What else could it be?
