I know this has been asked a billion times and being a member for so long I should know better... But I did do a quick search and ended up with nothing... So here it goes.

I just bought a new laptop and it comes with Vista Home Premium. I want to put XP Pro SP2 on it for obvious reasons... I'm working on creating a custom disk with nLite for the XP install and don't want to clear out Vista until it works perfectly. So do I just install XP to the second partition I've created and create a modified boot.ini file?

Thank you... Makes sense, I tried partitioning the drive and installing XP... Well that turned into a 3 hour fiasco trying to make Vista the working OS without losing any data I have...
