starview 4 usb problem

Hi all.
i uploaded the latest fix for my starview 4 usb yesterday.all was spot on till about 12 ish 2day when it went back to the 'updating data'screen and i lost all my channels so now im back to square one with manually entering the c*d*s throughout the day.im just wondering if any one else is having this same problem after the fix or if any one knows anything i can try.cheers

 

try menu1570 set default key and exit out

hello again mate,worked sound all day yestaday then got up this morning and im back to that lovely data update screen.tryed the default key thing again and thats not working either any other ideas mate.???

 

Menu > 1570
Turn "keycode" from off to on & exit back to channels.

 

cheers mate that worked for now but it seems that whatever i try i end up back on that update data screen again.i flashed a starview 3 box for my mams mate the same time as i done my starview 4 and shes had no bother is anyone else havin chew with the starview 4's that you know of mate.

 

I have just bought a Starview 4 USB and downloaded the latest fix to my memory pen. How do i install the software as there is no 9 pin port on it. Also are there any passwords i need 1570 dont work.

 

Put the usb stick in the usb port on the back of the b0x.
Press menu on remote, you`ll see USB at the bottom of the screen.
Highlight USB with the remote & you`ll see (B0x Super USB) bin file appear on the screen.
Highlight the b0x super usb bin file with the remote & press ok.
The file will now start to load onto the b0x.

 

Hi Noelyf,
Where can I get the new "Fix" for my star view box 4. I am a bit stupid when it comes to this sort of thing but originally I put software on a usb stick which was then presented to the box. Entered code 1570 etc..and all was fine until about 2 weeks ago. Do I need new software on the usb stick? If so how do I get it and where from?

yeah you need new software mate the boxs went tits up bout 2 week ago.theirs a fix in eamos library have a look at the bottom of noelyfs last post and click on the link for it and it will take you to where you need to be.download the fix for starview 4 usb and just do exactly the same as noelyf explains on his last post.if you have any problems after you have updated the software look at the first couple of posts in this thread to help you out my starview 4 been fine since.hope this helps mate

@ GGJD, If you are in the uk you`ll need the v 1.06
For Ireland, you`ll need the v 1.05

As bax said, you`ll find the firmware in eamos library under my sig in the "B0x Super USB" folder.

I dont know if ive downloaded the wrong software from your library but the staview sees the rar file and i extracted the bib file which it sees i execute bin file and it asks me if i want to restore from it and i click yes, it goes through the motion but my channels are still scrambled. what am i doing wrong please.

 

Put the v.106 for the uk on the usb stick.
Or if you are in Ireland use the v.105
And follow all the instructions above.

 

I am useing ver 106.
I execute RAR file and then copy bin file to the front as rar file wont execute on my starview usb, thats the only way i can get usb to see the bin file.

 

Hi Everyone

I was wondering if you Guys/Girls can help me.
I have the box (starview 4 usb) it works fine but when I turn over the channels somtimes the screen goes black but you can still hear the sound in the back ground. Everytime I turn to a next channel the screen is still black,this only happens on $ channels. I do a full scan and then go back to these channels, sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. The only way that I can get all the channels back is to turn off the mains unit and turn it back on again.
Is anyonelse having this problem or is it just me.( or my box )

Forgive me if I sound a bit tetchy but this box is driving me, or more to the point my daughters F""king mad. Here is what I have done so far.

Followed instructions to download fix to memory stick from Eamons library but originally the only V1.06 file I could find was a r~ file and it would not dowload any data to the box. After searching everywhere I eventually came across a Thesuperusb_V1.06_beta_~ file. I put this on to the memory stick and then the box and it appeared to download data to my box. Now all my free channels are mute, and all the others remain scrambled with the "Update info" screen seen all the time. I have done an automatic channel tune several times and the menu 1570, default key and keycode to on and exit out but still nothing.

Can someone please help before I go mad and put an axe thru this box and star Sky again !!!

Sorted at last thank you. i didnt realise that 1570 still worked with this model cos when i tried it earlier there must have been something in the way of my remote. Key code was off now all OK what a muppet i am.

 

Hello Im new to the forum and would like to say a great big thank you for the advise that ive got from here. Starview 4 Super USB is up and running.
I do have one problem though, is there any way to set the channels up in some kind of order, the sort option is dissabeled in the menu and I dont really want the kids seeing the Adult content.
Also is there anyway of slimmimg down the channel list as I dont see any need for so many repeats of the channels or do I have to do that bit manualy.
