Linksys WRT54G router, Vista - "Local Connection" problem

    I'm trying to set up my Vista desktop computer to a WRT54G wireless router using one of the wired ports on the back of the router.

    The router seems to communicate with the computer and the internet, but won't allow me to connect to the internet via my computer. I've tried firmware upgrade, power cycles and all kinds of crap.

    Any suggestions?
