Tracy, as regards the Firmware, go to Eamo's FTA Library and download this The Box UK Fix Ver 4.55 051208 it is complete with the loader GTRom 4.03 and easy to follow Instructions, when you are ready to flash your box, then it will be quite easy, just the one BIN file to put, straight from V4.51 to 4.55. If it is your first time of flashing a box, then I would seriously think about getting the loan of a Standalone PC with the correct 9 pin port at the back, or an old laptop, check with any friends see if they have one, you will find it easier, but good luck with it anyway, it's just a matter of correctly assigning the USB Adaptor so maybe you will find this link helpful if you go that way >>> http://www.freewebs.com/starview-update/ The link to Eamo's FTA Library is at the bottom of my post also, go into The Box Folder, then Firmware and there it is at the top, click that and download, you will need Winrar to unzip it, that's in also. Then if you want to follow a tutorial, click on the link Marked Starview 2nd line at bottom of post, bit of a long post but the information is relevant.
hi all, thanku so much for your help, we have just got back from maplin and the guy there said, only the null modem cable with usb will not work, so we are lost weather to get the usb or not.
Tracy I have posted some advice above, if you can get to one then it will be great, if not then this is what your are looking for, and the price is spot on for the two (Check Link). Also definately get that FIRMWARE from the Library as I have told you, it is a much simpler route okay. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/USB-to-RS232-...14&_trkparms=72:1300|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318
